When I was half way through my 29th year of life, I found myself in an awful rut! I hated my day job, I was sitting on top of a pile of student loan debt for a degree that wasn’t serving me, and I often found myself missing out on so many precious moments of my 10 year old daughters life because I couldn’t tell my employer no. I often put my husband on the back burner because I felt like he knows what I’m going through, so right now my needs are more important. 😕 I’ve always been a hard worker and literally climbed my way to the top of the hospitality food chain in 6 short years! (From front desk minimum wage to running my own sales department). But in doing this, I lost my sense of purpose, I looked down that ladder I ferociously climbed and realized I lost sight of what was important. I didn’t know how I was going to change my circumstances but I did know I was very, very, very, unhappy. I knew I couldn’t spend another 35 years of my life working a J.O.B. But I didn’t know where I should start, or even what I was looking for. I remember praying a specific prayer asking God to place me on the path I’m supposed to be on because somehow I had gotten off track! I waited…and waited…and waited.
One day, while wasting my life away on social media, I stumbled across something that at the time, I didn’t know was going to totally change my life! I’ve always been an open minded person, but direct sales was never on my radar. So, I took a chance are reached out to this complete stranger on Facebook as I was fascinated at how a full time job in her world meant 20 hours a week🤔. I was intrigued at how she was partnering with the Proactiv Solutions doctors!! Who and the heck lands this kind of gig? But the amazing part, she told me I had the opportunity to partner with them too. I’ve always been a business woman, and this conversation I had with her made complete business sense to me! Although I didn’t know much about skincare, I knew a great opportunity when I saw one. I took the leap and what a ride this has been!!
I’m sharing this with you to say, don’t knock anything until you try it. You never know what lies on the other side of chance, fear and your comfort zone. I’m happy to say that I love my little side gig and I am not only paying down my mountain of student loan debt, I’m funding vacations, braces for my Bean, paying my car payment, building a savings account and most importantly, I am getting to help others completely change their lives in the process. AND…drinking wine, hanging out with some of the smartest, beautiful, and encouraging women of RF is what I get to call “work”. I would take this any day over a 50-60 hour work week! Plus, I’m getting amazing skin out of the deal. I look forward to the day when I can completely free myself from corporate America 100% and live my life on my own terms! It’s coming!! You just wait on it!!💋
